Minutes
- Acceptance of March 12 meeting minutes.
- Minutes of last meeting were accepted as given.
- Medicaid partnership proposal
- Brad Perry proposed a partnership with his Medicaid department. Medicaid rewards participants in their programs with points that can be redeemed for fitness program fees and equipment. Nampa KIDS can become a vendor of the program and have an additional source of outreach to the community and funding from Medicaid. The program is referred to as Preventive Health Assistance (PHA) Vouchers.
- Coach’s Clinic
- Jason Lowry summarized the content of his scheduled Coach’s Clinic
- The clinic is scheduled for Saturday, April 14th from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
- There are currently 12 coaches signed up for the clinic. The first 25 will get either a free coaching video, a coach’s clipboard, or both.
- Communication Booth
- Bob has someone in mind for the Satellite booth worker. This person is needed for $40/day every Saturday for seven weeks during the season. This worker will be responsible for showing up at 9:30 to pick up materials from BJ in the main booth.
- Alternately, BJ could use a runner to get materials to coaches who do not pick up their items from the booth.
- Background check update
- Three or four coaches still have not filled out the BGC form.
- Approximately 276 BGCs have been processed so far, with only one or two that need further Executive Board discussion.
- Kevin will be authorized with Dusty to access BGC website.
- The board reviewed cases that needed to be flagged for further follow-up.
- Kids’ Cup
- Bob spoke to Corla who is willing to help with Kids’ Cup but not lead the effort. Brena will also help Bob and Lynda make phone calls and assist in the event planning.
- Lynda would like to get a vendor to do vinyl window stickers this year.
- Tiffany Dumar (941-3260) is willing to rent inflatable jump play equipment for the Kids Cup if we are able to provide proof of inclusive insurance.
- A design was chosen for the Kids Cup t-shirt.
- Scholarship update
- Wendy reported that several parents on scholarship are not cooperating with requests to get them to volunteer to help. We discussed that kids will need to be pulled from the program whose parents are not fulfilling their volunteer obligations.
- Office space
- There is a 360 s.f. space available in an annex to the State Farm insurance office. Bob is in discussion with the owner to discuss the possibility of letting Nampa KIDS use this space.
- Next season registration system/fees
- This will be discussed at 11:45 on Saturday at the park.
- Next board meeting
- The next board meeting is scheduled for May 14 at 6:30 pm in the Winter Room at Mercy Medical Center.
