Minutes

1. Acceptance of the December minutes with the following corrections:
• “Shultz” is spelled without a “c.”
• “Lynda” is spelled with a “y.”
2. Spring registration update
• Registration appears to be on target for the Spring, with approximately 925 players so far.
• A registration drive will be scheduled at Wal-Mart on January 17th.
• A merchandise sale/swap event will be held at the park in March. This is tentatively scheduled for the 17th and 24th.
• Final approval needed on flyer to go to the schools. Elsa will provide a Spanish language translation for a double-sided flyer to go to Hispanic schools. Jean and Elsa will forward the text to Kevin, and Kevin will add a logo and produce a PDF file for printing.
3. Merchandise sales update
• Lynda will attend a meeting with a Boise printer with Bob and Jean regarding bumper stickers that can be offered for sale.
• Other ideas include soccer ball magnetic frames, clothes, equipment, etc.
• An initial budget for trinket-type merchandise will be $500. Lynda will prepare a merchandizing proposal for larger items.
4. Website update
• New site design is available for preview at http://nampakids.org.
• Things to add to the new site:
• Registration blurb on menu
• Forms from old site
• Photo gallery
• Placeholder for bylaws and budget
5. Coordinator positions to be filled
• Names were discussed as potential recruits for the following positions: Coach Coordinator, Assistant Coach Coordinator, Kids Cup Coordinator, Uniform Coordinator.
• A lost and found coordinator position was discussed to coordinate the posting of lost items each week to the website.
6. Healthy Nampa Healthy Youth (HNHY) application
• Next meeting with HNHY is at 3:00 pm on Wednesday the 17th at Mercy Medical to discuss per-player budget and grant application.
7. Park and Rec meeting
• There will be a Park and Rec meeting Thursday at 7:00 pm with other local sports organizations to discuss park plans. Jean, Dusty, and/or Rich will represent Nampa KIDS at this meeting.
8. 1099 Form
• These need to be mailed by January 31st.
9. Fields
• Jean completed and submitted paperwork to Park and Rec to request fields for Spring.
10. Next board meeting
• Monday the 22nd will be held as a possible Flying M meeting date if board members feel an extra meeting is necessary. This discussion will be followed up by e-mail.
• The next board meeting is scheduled for February 12 at 6:30 pm in the Winter Room at Mercy Medical Center.
