Attendees Executive Board: Bob Shultz, Dusty Dutcher, Rich Forcier, Jean Barney, Kevin Harper Guests: Nampa City Councilman Bob Schmidt Minutes - Swearing in of new board members
- Jean made a motion to accept the appointment of Dusty Dutcher as Vice President. Rich seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously.
- Councilman Bob Schmidt lead a swearing in ceremony for all five officers.
- Our Board is now made up of:
- President – Bob Shultz
- Vice President – Dusty Dutcher
- Treasurer – Rich Forcier
- Secretary – Kevin Harper
- Registrar – Jean Barney
- Discuss press release/photos
- Officers to send short bio to Kevin. Kevin to prepare a press release for media distribution announcing officer appointments.
- Meeting with Mercy and P&R on Property Use: Nov 21st, Tuesday 3pm. Mercy Cafeteria
- Rich reminded the board of the Nov 21st meeting to discuss potential use of horse pasture and cow pasture.
- New Property Use
- Rich suggested that Nampa KIDS maintain some involvement in the development process for the property as a gesture of goodwill.
- December Meeting
- Bob suggested an e-mail conversation to discuss whether the December meeting would be catered for dinner during the meeting.
- Coordination with other sports organizations
- Bob proposed working to meet leaders of other sports organizations to reduce conflicts over fields and to generally improve the communication between the organizations.
- Tournament/Fundraising
- Dusty proposed an intra-league tournament as a potential recreational fund-raising event for those that are interested in competing at a higher level.
- General agreement was reached to coordinate this for the end of the Spring season for a small registration fee.
- Should we pay Parks and Rec
- Bob suggested coordinating with the city for either cash, in-kind equipment contributions, or a combination. Rich will talk to Jean about this. A $3000 to $4000 value per year was discussed. It was proposed that one month before each season, $1000 will be donated to the Park and Rec department.
- Finalize referee training
- Matt’s e-mail was read listing his requests for referees. Referee compensation per game was proposed to be $12/U8, $15/U10, and $20/MID.
- Bob will draft a counter-proposal for terms of referee compensation and certification.
- Website demo and update
- Kevin demonstrated the front and backend of the Joomla content management platform that is being proposed for the Nampa KIDS website.
- Season wrapup discussion
- This topic will be discussed via e-mail or in the December meeting.
- Healthy Nampa Healthy Youth
- Rich updated the board on the grant process for HNHY. This requires a budget and pre-season grant requests to help cover scholoarships. Rich submitted a grant request for $5000 for next Spring.
- President’s Letter
- This topic will be discussed via e-mail.
- Roberts Rules of Order
- Kevin distributed a copy of Roberts Rules of Order to all officers.
- Merchandise Sales
- Bob proposed hosting a small shopping cart on the website for selling misc. equipment, uniforms, or clothing.
- Kevin noted that the website could also support a free classified ad system for parents to buy and sell used equipment.
