UniformsWe are hoping by the time you read this, that the uniforms have been received by all players. Early in the summer, the committee decided to make a move to support the local economy and started the process to order the older boy’s uniforms through a Nampa company. Several months and many frustrations later, everyone has their uniforms! (If you don’t have it, see Katrice today!) After all this effort on our part, please be sure the players of every age wear the entire uniform each week. Players must wear plain, same color shorts as the rest of the team. (A few yxxs shorts are available in black at the MMC booth if yours are just too big.) We have some extra of most of the socks and shorts colors if you lose yours or the dryer eats a sock. Be sure your socks cover the shin guards. If it is cold, you can wear long pants and a sweatshirt UNDER the uniform to play. Coacheswe are missing over half of the lists of player uniform numbers. Please turn them in today. WeatherGames are held rain or shine. The League only cancels if there is lightning in the area or an unhealthy Air Quality Rating. Coaches may meet at game time and agree to cancel if the weather is extremely wet. VolunteersIf you are the first game on a field, we need your help to get the field set up, so please come early and jump in where help is needed. If you are the last game on a field, please be sure the field is taken down and left at the Communication Booth. This includes the nets, flags, goal pads and field where applicable. Parents, please support our wonderful volunteer coaches and assistants by making sure your child's team has a "Team Parent". If you would like more information about this job, or other ways you can help, please contact Joi at the booth. Game ReportsEVERY coach should be turning in a game or referee report at the end of each game. If you are the assistant or team parent, ask your coach if you can help with it. Thank you for taking the time to keep us informed. PicturesPictures begin at Skyview Cafeteria this week. There will be extra envelopes at the site if you did not get one or lost yours. Please be sure to be there for the team picture. Everyone who fills out an envelope will get a complementary safety card with their child’s picture on it. Check at the communication booth to verify your time so you don’t miss out. ID BadgesAll Coaches on the field for U6 and younger, or on the team side of the field for U7 and above, MUST have a current ID Badge to show that they have passed a background check. If your coaches are not wearing theirs, please remind them for us! For kids age Kindergarten and younger, the coach from each team, who is wearing their current ID Badge, may be on the field to keep the players going in the right direction and offer positive encouragement to them. One coach should be responsible for keeping the correct time and getting the game started and ended on time. Both coaches can have a whistle and use it to call balls out and restart play after a goal is scored. They are also responsible to keep play fair and from getting too rough. If U4 players need 2 coaches from each team on the field, they may use them as long as they have a badge on. For U7 and above, only those with a current badge will be allowed on the team side of the field. Please respect this rule and do not sit on that side as a spectator. KID’s Cup 2008It was brought to our attention that our original date for KID’s Cup will be on the same day as Nampa’s annual Parade America. We are discussing making a change to the whole spring schedule to change the date to avoid that conflict, including starting as early as March 22nd so we can begin before Spring Break Week. Do you have any input? Please give us your thoughts through the Comment Box under the Pavilion. Comment BoxWhat do you think about the new uniforms? Do you have ideas for Spring Season, Kid’s Cup or even want to volunteer to help the League? Would you like to report how wonderful your coach is or do you have a thought to share about how a game went? Put it in the Comment Box. Comments can be made anonymously or with your name so we can respond back. We are not placing this box so people can use it to complain about little things they dislike about the league, but rather, have it as a place to get information about what is happening out there and receive ideas for positive changes to make.
