Training for new referees

Training dates have been set. On March 5th Nampa KIDS will be holding our training for new referees. This class is tailored for those younger referees that will be refereeing U7/U8 and AR for U12 (ages 11 +). The class will be free and will take four hours to complete. This class can also be a good option for those non-certified referees who want a little refresher before the start of the season. The accreditation will only be good for Nampa KIDS and is not a certification they can taken to any other league. If you are interestested in more advanced training you should attend one of the USSF certifications available in the valley (http://www.webpak.net/~salg/files/2010Spring.htm l). Most newly trained referees start as a line judge (AR). Location:Nampa Senior Center (Part of Nampa Rec Center) Date/Time: March 5, 5:30pm - 9:30pm Suggested age is 11 Cost: FREE What to bring: Something for taking notes To receive accreditation prospective referees must attend the class, complete an on-line test (with passing grade). While the course is primarily for youth, all ages are invited. Updated: Advanced (USSF Certification) Referee Training

Individuals interested obtaining the grade 8 certification should plan on attending the class listed below. The cost of the class is $25 ($22.50 if you pre-register) plus $40 for USSF registration . USSF refs are eligible to officiate anywhere in the U.S. based on league rules. The 16-hour USSF course is a national certification. Location: Nampa Senior Center (in the Nampa Rec Center, 207 Constitution Way, Nampa Idaho Date/Time: March 23 : 6 – 10 pm March 25 : 6 – 10 pm March 27 : 8am - 5 pm Certified referees are paid between $12 - $25 per game (depending on level). Spring Referees

Hello to all past Nampa KIDS referees. Spring is only a few months away and it will soon be time for soccer to begin again. I am ready to start building the referee roster for the spring season so I need each of you to let me know this week if you intend to referee for Nampa KIDS during the spring season. You can contact me either by e-mail or phone. Our first games will start on Saturday, April 10th (actually there will probably be a couple of games the evening of Friday, April 9th). This year there will be a couple of changes. For those of you who are certified, Nampa KIDS will no longer be able to provide you with your referee gear. Instead we will give you an opportunity to purchase a package from our current supplies for $25. The package includes: Jersey, Shorts, Socks, Watch, Whistle, Wallet, Flags and Bag. If you are interested in one of our packages please let me know. This year we also hope to provide several training opportunities, including an on-line class that you can complete at your own pace. Referee equipment return and final paychecks

I want to thank each of you who refereed for us this season for a great job. You all made great improvement over the season and it definitely showed in the evaluations you received from coaches.

We have just a couple of things to take care of before we can call this season to a close.

Equipment Return:

Final checks will be issued once we show that we have received back the equipment you used this season. For those of you who still need to return your equipment you have two opportunities this week.

1. Oct. 28th at Skyview soccer field (behind the fire station) from 5:15 to 6:30 PM. I will be setup over by the porta-potties. I will be watching my son's game so if there was someone who wanted to volunteer to help check in equipment I would appreciate it.
2. Oct. 29th at liberty Park pavilion from 6;00 to 7:00 PM.

If you are not able to make it to either of these time contact me and we can make arrangements.

For those of you who have already returned your equipment I have forwarded the payable amount to the treasurer and she will get the checks out as soon as she can.
