Nampa K.I.D. Soccer’s Select division was born from the need and desire of many of our members to provide a path for players to move from recreational play to the next level of soccer.  That desire also included an understanding that the next level should encompass player development first and foremost.  To help achieve this, we realized that a more competitive environment was needed.  One that could offer a higher degree of individual and team challenge than our recreational league can provide.  Additionally, we knew our Select coaching staff had to be better educated and experienced.  In the summer of 2009, several or our seasoned and licensed coaches joined together and Select teams were formed.  They now compete in Idaho Youth Soccer Association’s District 3 league against other organizations throughout southwestern Idaho.Each year Select teams are formed with returning  players, recreational players who have developed skills beyond their recreational counterparts and experienced players from outside our club. Each must possess the desire and potential to reach the next level of play.  This takes place each summer when player candidates are required to have their skills evaluated in order to be eligible for placement onto a Select team.  Returning players must also be re-evaluated to help gauge their progress and aid us in placing them where they can best excel and further develop.Unlike our recreational coaches, our Select coaches must attend training and obtain coaching licenses in order to be part of our staff.In keeping with Nampa K.I.D. Soccer’s ideal of offering soccer at an affordable cost, you will find our Select division fees are much lower than other soccer organizations offering the same type program throughout the Treasure Valley.
